Owl Babies

Our story this week was ‘Owl Babies’.  This story formed the introduction to our brand new ‘Drawing Club’.  The children were so excited to join the club and find out all about what happens.

In Drawing Club, we focus on a different story each week and the children are asked to design drawings based on the story, using their own ideas.  This week they have drawn their own owl and a tree for the owl to live in.  They have even drawn some shapes which act as a password for their owl.  As the children progress with their phonics, we will move away from drawing shapes and begin writing simple words.

In maths this week we have looked at some simple two step repeating patterns.  We have used some natural materials to help make and follow a pattern such as ‘conker stick conker stick’ etc.  Please have a look on tapestry at the patterns they have created.

The children have also produced some lovely owl art work linked to our story of the week and have been very proud of their creations.

With all of this rainy weather the children are having to get changed quite a lot.  If your child has come home wearing a set of spare school clothes that are not from home, please could we ask that you wash and return them as soon as you can as we are running out of spare clothes.  Thank you so much for your understanding and support.

Have a lovely weekend.
