MONDAY AGAIN

What a beautiful weekend wasn’t it. I was able to sit outside with my brew and listen to The Archers on Sunday morning whilst Mr O was out on his walk. You will be pleased to hear he did find his way back but I do live in hope that one day…

On Saturday I went up to London with my only child to watch Hades Town again as part of her birthday treat. Even though I lived and worked in London in my younger years I am not a fan of all the people now. It wasn’t as busy as it could have been and the weather was certainly making people smile and stand tall. There is always something new to see and we always say ‘ooh look at that’ as we weave our way through the strollers. We had a marvellous time but when we disembarked the train back in Fleet we did comment how much nicer the air is!

Climate change is obviously on all our minds and at school we talk to the children about this in an age-appropriate way. Children should be allowed to live innocent lives but at the same time they are the future. In school we recycle, try to remember to save energy by turning the lights off, and eat our vegetables so we don’t contribute to food waste. I am delighted that so many parents are embracing our pre-loved/vintage uniform because it really does make sense considering we encourage the children to be outside and embrace nature. If you are new to school you might have discovered that the washable whiteboard pens don’t always do what it says on the tin and if your child prefers to write on their clothes than on the whiteboards they will come home with black bits on clothes as well as mud, BUT dirt does wash out and it is incredibly beneficial to all. In the olden days we never seem to have as many illnesses even though we we were always dirty. 😂 Perhaps it was because we were dirty and only had one bath a week, in front of the coal fire, in a tin bath, sharing the bath water and being unlucky if you were the 12th child of 12 using the water that we built an immunity to germs.

That was a very long paragraph but that isn’t uncommon for my blogs as I sometimes ramble on and go off on a tangent but that is just me. My blogs aren’t meant to be serious even though I do sneak in some words of wisdom that I have learnt through the years. I hopefully might make you smile sometimes, or not if you don’t share my sense of humour.

Right…emails to read, improvement plans to finalise, reports to send to my governors and most importantly check what’s for lunch today.
