MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

We’ve had such a fun final week here at school on the run up to Christmas. The Pantomime was a great success and the children absolutely loved it – we were lucky we didn’t get rained on this year! I think the children are all ready to break up for Christmas now and hopefully everyone will recover from sniffles, temperatures and coughs in time for Christmas Day.

I just would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU all so much for our kind words, cards and gifts you have given us. We honestly don’t expect anything but we are so appreciative regardless – we love our jobs and we love the children which makes it rewarding and worthwhile.

When we come back in January, bright eyed and busy tailed, we will start our English learning by writing our news from our Christmas holidays. We will be writing simple sentences checking that we have punctuated with capital letters and full stops correctly. In maths, we will be practising reading, writing and ordering numbers to 50. We will also be finding 1 more and 1 less of numbers to 50.

Just a few reminders:

  • Please make sure all your child’s belongings are labelled. Things do go missing and I’m convinced there is a black hole somewhere in the school that sucks them in and they never come back.
  • Please send your child’s water bottle and book bag into school every day.
  • Our Year 1 PE day is on a Monday for Hedgehogs and Tuesday for Bumblebees.
  • Reading books in school are changed once a week and this will be every Monday. The books will be collected in in the morning and a new one will be issued that same afternoon.
  • Library book change will be on a Friday.

Dates:

6th January – Inset Day

Thank you for all your support this term, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in 2025!
