Little Red Riding Hood
This week is our last week of our ‘Traditional Tales’ topic and it has been so much fun. Our story of the week was ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and the children had great fun listening to the story, acting it out in our tuff trays, creating lots of different crafts including a cottage for Granny, puppets of the different characters, a wolf, a forest and even Granny herself!
In phonics we have been trying really hard to practise words with all of our sounds that we have learnt so far, as well as practising lots of tricky words.
In maths this week we have moved onto the number 8, had a go at representing 8 on a 10 frame, talked about the word ‘octoblock’ in Numberblocks and investigated different ways to make the number 8.
We can’t believe it is half term already! Where have the weeks gone since Christmas. The children have all worked incredibly hard this half term and deserve a well-earned rest.
Some reminders for after half term:
Please can you send your child’s library book back every Monday so that they can change their book. They all love their visit to our school library and enjoy choosing a new book.
Your child would have brought their PE kit home this week so that it can be washed. Please return it on the first day back so that it is on their peg ready for their first PE lesson of the new half term.
We hope you all have a lovely week and thank you as always for all of your support.
