A very red Friday!

A very red Friday!

We just wanted to send a huge thank you for your generosity and support on Red Nose Day!

Put on your nose, so bright and red,
Let’s spread some joy, and cheer ahead!
With laughter loud and hearts so kind,
We’ll help the world, one smile at a time!

Your donations will go a long way in helping those in need, and it was wonderful to see the children getting involved dressed in red for such a great cause. Your kindness and contributions truly make a difference, and we are so grateful to have such a generous and supportive school community.

It’s been so lovely to feel the sun on our faces this week! Feels lovely not having to wrap up in layers and layers and more layers when we go anywhere! I don’t want to tempt fate but I think we may have waved goodbye to winter, hurrah!

Another lovely week in Year 2 has just ended. In English, we have been doing our practise write for our waterfall booklets. The children have worked so hard to put all of the skills that we have been learning in the last couple of weeks, into their draft. I can’t wait to see the children’s fantastic waterfall books when they are completed next week.

In maths we revisited multiplication, using arrays and numberlines. This ties in perfectly with learning times tables, so the children have a very good understanding of this concept. We are going to revisit division next week and we will go on to look at remainders.

We have had lots of fun with our science learning this week too. The children have loved testing different materials to investigate their suitability for a parachute. It was their job to use their findings to design and create a parachute which was able to float to the ground. The children LOVED testing their creations!

A message has gone out about Giants in School Day. Please remember to begin collecting resources and materials you will need to create the moon buggy.

Things to remember:

Book change on Monday – please make sure books and diaries are in.

Timestables test on Monday.

I think that’s it for now.

Have a great weekend!
